Earlier this month, Death with Dignity got the chance to sit down with legislators from across New York and speak with them about why they support Death with Dignity. The conversations provided an amazing insight into the professional backgrounds, religious beliefs, family members, and constituent stories that turned each legislator into a champion for the New York Medical Aid in Dying Act.

One of our Assembly sponsors, Assemblymember Chantel Jackson, spoke about how she was not initially a supporter of Death with Dignity. However, after meeting with advocates and hearing about their experiences watching loved ones go through undue pain and suffering in their last days, she decided to become a co-sponsor.
