This week, the Montana House held a public hearing for SB136, a ruthless bill that would criminalize doctors for providing medical aid in dying to terminally ill patients. If they succeed, Death with Dignity will be stripped away in Montana—robbing dying people of their right to a peaceful, autonomous death.
In Connecticut, HB5712 would falsely label medical aid in dying as “suicide” on death certificates—a blatant attempt to shame and stigmatize patients. Thanks to the nearly 3,000 letters to the committee, we stopped this bill in its tracks!
New Jersey Representative Robert Auth is back at it again, trying to wipe out the New Jersey Aid in Dying for the Terminally Ill Act. Together, we have relentlessly fought to protect Death with Dignity, and his repeal efforts fail every year—however, we must remain vigilant!
