This year, we reached a notable milestone and achieved significant legislative victories, successes we’re thrilled to share in our Annual Report. But as I reflect on the year, I think first about every person supporting the death with dignity movement, and all those we are fighting for. This movement is not just about passing laws—it’s about ensuring people have autonomy, dignity, and control at the end of their lives.

With determination, dedication, and a willingness to get creative, no goal is too ambitious. This year, with the historic win in New Mexico, we reached a ten-year milestone (after just eight years). Read more about our ambitious “10 in 10” plan on pg. 4 of the report.

Now we’re laying the groundwork for the next ten years. The future of our movement relies on building additional connections and dismantling the barriers that separate us. As we do the hard and necessary work of propelling our movement forward, we’re investing in resources that support and connect us. Read more about our new online Action Center on pg. 8.

We’ll continue taking actions to ensure our organization is equitable and accessible to all. In addition to updating our hiring practices, we’ve hired new staff and advisers in Massachusetts, New York, and Ohio, bringing us closer to advocates on the ground across the U.S.

Read more about all this and more in our 2021 Annual Report.
