Liza’s story: Pass Death with Dignity in New York for people like her dad

Stephen Dunn loved life. His enthusiasm for living and enjoying all moments, big and small, spread to all of those around him.

He was also a fierce advocate for Death with Dignity, and served on our organization’s Board of Directors for several years.

In 2019, Stephen found out that he had a very aggressive form of lung cancer, which had quickly spread to other parts of his body. He declined rapidly. And, he died very painfully.

Stephen will not see the day that Death with Dignity passes in his state. But we can continue fighting to honor him and all who so desperately need this law.

Time is running out to pass Death with Dignity in New York this year. Write your state legislators now. Tell them to prioritize passing the Medical Aid in Dying Act to finally bring Death with Dignity to New York.
