Bills Do Not Advance
Current status: Wisconsin introduces the Our Care, Our Options Act (AB1164/SB1114), bills that would legalize medical aid in dying in the state.
SB1114 is read for the first time and referred to the Senate Committee on Licensing, Regulatory Reform, State and Federal Affairs.
AB1164 is sent to the Assembly Committee on Health, Aging, and Long-Term Care.
While AB1164/SB1114 did not move forward this session, they will be reintroduced in the 2027 session.
Bills Do Not Advance
The session ends and the Our Care, Our Options Act (AB781/SB739) and the bills do not move forward.
Session Ends, Bills Carry Over to 2024 Legislative Session
On December 8, Our Care, Our Options Act (AB781/SB739) is introduced by Wisconsin legislators. The bills are sent to their respective committees, and both bills will crossover into the 2024 session.
Bill Does Not Advance
On February 23 the Our Care, Our Options Act (SB1013), is introduced and referred to the Senate Committee on Health. The bill does not move forward.
Bills Do Not Pass
In June, Wisconsin lawmakers introduce S312/HB216. The bills fail to pass.
